Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Timely Friday Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but do you have a set ending to Sam & Fuzzy? The reason I'm asking is that I'm afraid it's going to go the way of Rosenberg's 'Goats'. He got far into a complicated storyline that tied in past arcs (kinda like what's going on now in S&F), and then stopped in the middle of a current arc. I really love Sam & Fuzzy and wherever it is you take the story and characters. I'm just afraid that there's a chance it might drop off the face of the earth mid-story." -Z.R.

I get what you're saying, Z.R.! I too was a fan of the Goats epic, and am looking forward to the day that Jon can go back and finish it. (Though at least we have his great new comic, Scenes From a Multiverse, to tide us over in the meantime!)

And what geek hasn't had to stand by as a beloved TV series or comic book got cancelled part-way through, never to be completed? After the first few times, you start to get a little paranoid! "What if this new story I'm super-invested in never gets finished? What if someone takes it away from me? AUGH!"

Well, here's the good news! Sam and Fuzzy is a one-man operation, and I've been blessed with some of the most dedicated hardcore fans a cartoonist could ask for. Thanks to your support -- be it from nabbing my swag or just helping to spread the word to other readers -- this hobby has become an honest-to-goodness job, and I can afford to spend the bazillions of hours needed to write and draw these ridiculous whopping 1000+ page stories.

You guys make this happen, year after year, and I am incredibly thankful for it. And as long as I still have you guys in my corner, I promise you can count on me to see this story -- and others! -- through right to the end. It is the least I can do!

"I just noticed that Nicole's nose is de-spoilerized in the image of the Evil Diva print on the Topatoco page. Does this mean she'll finally be showing up soon?" -Matt

"Hey Sam! Long-time reader. I was just going through some of the older comics and I was wondering if the Carlyle character from the EARLY days of Sam and Fuzzy would ever come back as a deus ex machina?" -Tom

I can see it now! Sam is dead, the world is being swarmed by robot clones, ... and then Carlyle descends from the heavens and fixes it all with a magical headbutt!

No, no... none of that! There's only one ex machina that belongs in comics, and that's this one.

That's a wrap for this week! See you on Monday, when I promise we will actually pick up right from today's cliffhanger, rather than just abruptly jumping to some totally unrelated subplot. There is a first time for everything!

Arrrrrrg

Have any of you been following the Portal 2 ARG? Even though I'd never have the dedication to actually participate in one of these things myself, it's totally fascinating just to read about them as they unfold... which you can do right here! In a particularly clever (and developer-supportive!) move, Valve has decided to hide their clues inside ten of Steam's best indie games. It's all pretty cool, but the best part? We get a whole new free new level of Bit.Trip.Beat out of the deal. Score!

We return on Friday, with a new comic and a new Q & A session... one of which will be particularly intense! (Hint: there are no Q & A questions about Shampoo commercials.)
