Gaggle Gaggle

Roger the Disembodied Head was first introduced in this comic. But like all the best characters, the history of his appearances since then is long, storied, and pretty much totally irrelevant. Just how I like it!

In other news, our book two-pack special continues. For a little extra, you can order a book that has an original sketch on the inside cover, and as promised, today I'm posting a few of the ones I've drawn so far... a batch I did while experimenting with using markers to add a bit of light shading. The brush pens I usually use would bleed like crazy on the kind of paper the covers are printed on, but micron tech pens and felts work quite well.



For those who don't know, Fuzzy is riding Chompy (one of Butcher's offspring). This story is actually reprinted in the first book. Gert, on the other hand, is not, but she's a common request so I thought I'd practice drawing her with the markers.



Here's Mr. Blank, just because he is fun to draw! Meanwhile, the drawing of Sam is an ancient, ancient reference.... cheeeessee baaaalllll!

These four are just random drawings that will go to folks who did not ask for anything in particular... if you have ordered a sketched book and have not requested a specific drawing, one of these might be yours!

Our book two-pack sale continues all this week. I haven't had a chance to scan any of the custom sketches I've been drawing in them, so I can't post any pictures today like I'd hoped -- but I'll definitely have some ready for Wednesday's post. Scout's honour!

A few folks have asked if it would be possible to extend the mini-book two-pack deal a little longer. Which is fair enough -- I guess I didn't give a lot of time or advance warning with this one, did I? So, I'm extending the sale for an extra week! Two packs, both with and without sketches inside, will remain on sale until March 23rd.

Meanwhile, on Monday I'll try to post some samples of some of the stranger sketches I've been doing in these things. It should be fun! (Or horrifying, depending on your constitution.)
