Calgary Comic Expo
Exciting news! I will now be attending this Calgary Comic Expo later this month, thanks to some generous last minute help from the organizers... and my friend Alina, whose booth I will be sharing! I've heard great things about the Expo, and I'm really excited to be doing another Canadian show. Woo!
And now, back to our regular scheduled programming!
Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Print Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!
"How many of the prints do you have left?" -Mark
Right now? I don't know, actually! I don't find out until I get my sales reports from Topatoco. A quarter of them were gone as of Monday, but I couldn't tell you how many more of them have gone since then. They seem to be doing pretty well, though!
"This is a question about the new print: Way in the back i see Skull Panda but i don't know what he's dressed as. Could you tell me?" -
Certainly! He's dressed as the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh... an obscure character from Batman's campy sci-fi days.
He's kind of popular among a certain portion of hardcore Batman continuity nerds, largely because of how completely ridiculous he is. An alien planet just happens to have their own Batman... by coincidence! And he wears a purple, yellow and red suit. What's not to like?
Anyhow... popular with Batman continuity nerds! That's why you'll see him pop up in places like the recent Brave and the Bold cartoon, or Grant Morrison's current run on the Batman comics... or on my print!
"Bat Fuzzy" Limited Prints... Now on Sale!
"Have you ever thought about a formspring to keep the Q&A constantly rolling? " -Soup
I have! But the truth is, I think my formspring account would wind up even more neglected than my poor twitter feed. (Which I often forget to update for days at a time.)
I'm no good at these web 2.0 things you're meant to update constantly on the fly. Maybe it's because I don't have a smart phone? I can only really tend to them when I'm sitting at my computer... and when I'm sitting at my computer, it's usually because I'm busy working on something else!
Making the "Q and A" feature a part of my regular web update routine was a way of making sure I actually stuck with it. But a formspring account that I update "whenever I have time"? It would probably just wind up ignored and forgotten, like my facebook account or my plants or my three ex wives.
That's a wrap for this week! Come back on Monday for the next part of our story.
