Sam and Fuzzy Q & A: Blessfist Edition
Got a question you want answered? Just drop me an email with "Q & A" in the subject line!

"Are all the erasers human? If so, why are they allowed to know about the underground?" -Sean

Because their enforcement work takes place primarily on the surface, most of the Erasers are going to be human. (Or at least species that can pass for normal above-ground.)

There are lots of humans who know about the underground! They are just a minority in comparison to the number of humans who don't. Some of them are crooks, some of them are employees of underground organizations, some of them are forcibly quarantined as a result of status quo violations... there are plenty of reasons to be down there. Knowing about the underground isn't a crime. Those who do just need to continue keeping it a secret from the general population.

"My question is: Which one of the characters is Jewish? because, i mean at least one of them has to be Jewish, right? maybe not hasidic or something but at least a secular Jew, right?" -Johnathan

With extremely rare exception, Sam and Fuzzy has rarely explored the cast's religious views (or lack thereof). I'm generally fine with that, but it does kinda create the impression that none of them have religious views at all, which probably isn't true.

Long story short, you're not likely to get a direct answer to your question unless it becomes narratively relevant. Ditto for the casts' ethnic backgrounds or familial heritage, beyond what's obviously from the names and visuals. There's no point committing to definite answers to those questions until the story needs me to. Otherwise I'm just limiting future-me's story options!

"I've gotta know, what is/are blessfist(s)/ing? (How do you punctuate...) I feel like I'm missing out on a very important holiday tradition." -Allison

Zzt!

"Zzt"s are the favoured method of attack of Erasers everywhere. And, uh, apparently they have been for quite some time.

We return on Friday, for the next installment of our story, plus our latest round of reader Q and A! If you've got a question you'd like me to answer, just drop it in an email with "Q and A" in the subject line.) It can be about Sam and Fuzzy specifically, or cartooning in general. Or, it can be about something I'm immensely unqualified to talk about! You decide

Volume 5

Welcome to the first page of Sam and Fuzzy's next volume! This, for the record will be the fifth volume in the series that started with Sam and Fuzzy Fix Your Problem and continued on in Sam and Fuzzy are Very Famous, Sam and Fuzzy Under the Influence, and Sam and Fuzzy Ruined Everything. (You'll have to wait until we get to the title page before you find out what this one is called.)

Anyhow, I hope you guys enjoy it! I've been itching to get to this part of the story for some time. It has a lot of goodies in store for both our newer and our long-time readers, and I can't wait to share 'em.
