President Dog Origins
Gosh, I had a wonderful time at VanCAF! Thanks to everyone who come out to say hi.
While I decompress (and unpack) from the show, I thought today would be a good day to share this particular piece of President Dog historia!
As longtime readers may recall, President Dog's first appearance was in this comic, as a film series being pitched by Bonus. But I had so much fun with old Prez Dog, I wound up spinning him off into his own stand-alone comics. Later on, when I was making the Vote Dog book, I wanted to include a version of his first appearance that would fit with his stand-alone comics. So I created this alternate, expanded (and coloured) version of his first comic to use in the book... one where the entirety of the gag happens "on screen", so to speak.
Anyway, I don't think this version has ever been published online before, so enjoy! And see y'all on Wednesday, team.
If you're going to be at the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival this weekend, come by my table and say hi! Here's where to find me:
As for the rest of y'all... I'll see you here on the internet on Monday. Cheers!
While we're on the topic of Mr. Sin, I thought this might be a particularly opportune to share this two-part comic here! So, let's briefly flash back to the day Sin first joined The Committee... the secret organization that used to run the Underground and keep inhumans hidden from the rest of the world. This scene originally appeared in the Underground RPG guidebook (available in book form here and ebook form here), along with tons of details and lore about the S&F universe!
As readers of my most recent stuff will know, the Underground is not what it once was... the "great eruption" revealed the existense of the Underground (and destroyed a decent chunk of it), and inhumans now live freely on the surface. (Which has its pros and cons, as we saw Cynthia discuss.)
Part two will arrive on Friday! And this Saturday and Sunday, I'll be at VanCAF booth G8, if you wanna come say hello!
